I’m Omer Deutsch, the sole luthier at OD Guitars. These terms explain the ordering, payment and delivery arrangements for a custom OD guitar. Please read them alongside the details agreed for your own build and my warranty.
Start by submitting the customizing form. I will contact you to discuss your playing style, musical needs, tuning, specifications and visual ideas. You do not need to have every detail decided before getting in touch.
Once you and I have discussed and finalised the instrument details and price, I will ask for a down payment. Please make sure you understand the agreed specifications, payment arrangement and estimated build time before paying.
I work directly with you on the guitar’s specifications and design direction. Tali, my wife, partner and designer, creates a frontal illustration using an image of your selected wood top so you can see how the design is intended to come together.
The illustration is a visual guide. I recommend confirming the final specifications and design details in writing before the build proceeds. If you would like to change something after the details have been agreed, contact me first so I can discuss whether it is possible and any effect on the price or timing before you decide.
The standard arrangement is a 50% down payment. Alternatively, the price can be divided into up to four payments during the build, beginning with a 25% down payment.
A down payment of 25% secures your build slot and reserves your selected wood top. The payment arrangement for your guitar is agreed before you pay.
When the guitar is finished, I will photograph it and share the photos with you when requesting the final payment. The remaining balance is due before shipment.
I accept payment in US dollars by wire transfer or PayPal.
Your guitar’s price depends on the specifications and details agreed for the build. Please confirm the final price and shipping charge with me before paying.
Prices do not include any tax, VAT, customs duties or other import charges that may apply in your country. These costs are separate from the price of your guitar and the shipping charge.
The current build process and lead time is 12 months from the date I receive your down payment. Please confirm the estimated timing for your particular order before committing.
During the build, I share photo updates in a shared folder every other week or when significant stages of the work are reached. This lets you follow your guitar taking shape and stay involved throughout the process.
Read about the OD Guitars customer experience for more on working with me and Tali.
You have one week after paying the down payment to cancel your order. After that, the down payment is forfeited. If the price is divided into four payments, payments already made before cancellation are forfeited.
If you cannot complete the agreed payments, payments already made are forfeited because they fund work carried out and materials and hardware sourced for your guitar. If a payment problem arises, contact me promptly so I can discuss the situation with you.
These terms do not limit any cancellation or refund rights you may have under applicable consumer law.
I use insured express shipping for worldwide delivery. Shipping pricing is available through the order form, and I will confirm the arrangements for your guitar before shipment.
Shipping insurance covers shipping damage, subject to the carrier’s policy and claim requirements. If your guitar arrives damaged, contact me promptly and keep the packaging so I can help with the claim.
My warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship for three months from the date you receive your guitar, subject to its conditions and exclusions. It applies only to the original purchaser of a new or used guitar bought directly from OD Guitars and cannot be transferred.
Contact me before taking your guitar to a technician or arranging repair work. I review each claim individually. Where agreed in advance, a solution may include covering the agreed cost of work by a local technician. In special cases, I may arrange for the guitar to be returned to me for warranty repair.
Repair expenses, shipping arrangements and responsibility for shipping costs must be discussed and agreed with me beforehand. I do not cover work or expenses that have not received my prior approval. Read the full OD Guitars warranty for coverage and exclusions.
If anything is unclear, contact me before making a payment. I want you to understand the process and feel comfortable with the decisions for your guitar.
These terms do not limit any rights you may have under applicable consumer law.
